Hi. We’re #CSUSocial — the four-person, in-house social and digital media team for Colorado State University. We’re storytellers who write with a digital pen. We’re designers who aren’t afraid to explore. We’re video producers with a passion for Snapchat. And we’re all about meeting our followers where they are and building a meaningful community, because we love our Ram Family. We’re the people behind all things CSU Social.
COLORADO STATE SOCIAL MEDIA
Listening Deeply. Sharing Meaningfully. Building Community.
HubSpot named our Instagram account the #1 Best College Instagram Account in the world, saying “When it comes to posting a diversity of Instagram content, Colorado State University covered it all — and everything came out beautifully.”
Rival IQ analyzed social media across 338 colleges and universities and determined that our Facebook Page is the #2 most-engaging page. The engagement study white paper can be downloaded on the Rival IQ website.
WE EARN EVERY SHARE.
“Can we please feed gross jellybeans to the football team?” The idea was crazy, and the logistics were even crazier. This video project was a challenge, but we knew it would be worth it. And it was. The ‘minutes watched’ totaled over a full year’s worth of time, becoming our most viral piece of content ever and getting picked up by Yahoo Sports, FOX Sports, & ESPN College Football.
REACH: 1.8 million

WE KNOW WHAT'S UP.
If it’s trending, we’re talking about it right there along with the rest of the Internet.

WE KEEP IT REAL.
Psst. Want to know a secret to our high level of engagement? Authenticity. When we say we’re listening, we mean it. We churn out content with purpose.
“Just cried watching this at the car dealership… My daughter Rachael graduates from CSU tomorrow. So proud beyond words and tears. Can’t wait to be in Fort Collins tomorrow to celebrate. I am one lucky and proud papa.” – Chris H.
WE LET OUR DATA INFORM OUR STRATEGY.
Those numbers aren’t going to crunch themselves. Our philosophy is that the price of light is less than the cost of darkness.
2014-2016 PLATFORM GROWTH RATE

WE DON'T KEEP IT TO OURSELVES.
#Homeruns and #fails, we blog about it all. That time we learned how hard it is to film a recipe video? We’ve got a blog for that. We value transparency and push ourselves to share the things we know — with anyone who’s willing to listen. Head over to SOCIAL for the good, the bad, & the ugly of our experiences with the art and science of social media at Colorado State.
WE HIT 'EM RIGHT IN THE FEELS.
Some days it’s the heartstrings and others it’s the funny bone.
WE GET IT: TL;DR.
Ain’t nobody got time for long-winded captions. We pack a whole lotta personality into as little space as possible — so little, in fact, that our Top 20 Facebook posts of 2016 averaged only 5.25 words per post.
WE MAKE SCIENCE SOCIAL.
In 30 minutes, we'll be live streaming a Q&A with Ram alum & astronaut @astro_kjell on #Periscope. Tune in! pic.twitter.com/K7GHF2gnzG
